Being someone with a passionate addiction to writing, I find it hard to believe that there isn’t a person in the world that couldn’t compose a piece of writing with real meaning. With a plethora of new-fangled words coming into existence each year, I believe that everyone has a hidden talent within their grasp and can find writing as a kind of release. With the rise in the amount of stress, depression and anxiety in the world (which makes for uncomfortable viewing) I really do think the cure lies in writing. The majority of people that suffer from such illnesses find that they can’t talk to people about the issue or avoid such contact about their problems; which is where the use of writing about the subject can be kept to one’s own confidentiality.

“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”
– Maya Angelou, a famous American poet
The above quote speaks volumes. Coming from a recognised poet in which shows to great effectiveness the power in writing down thoughts, feelings or anguishes towards anything and everything. The notion that scribbling down something can release the demons within really does promote the gift of writing. Just try it. The next time you’re bored or have nothing to do, pick up a pen and scribble down some words. You may find you actually enjoy it. (Or find that you prefer a quick game on FIFA; either way..)

I have imbedded some Shakespeare words into the first paragraph- guess how many there were?*

*Answer in title: Passionate, addiction, new-fangled, kind, uncomfortable, issue, subject, avoid, release, grasp, rise, suffer and about. (Shakespeare created over 1700 words.. Wish I could’ve created words, instead of Shakesperian times it could’ve been Caesism times- I’ll see myself out.)

  1. this is a really really great post… truly, writing is one of the most powerful thing we can do since it can make us know & understand who we are and why we’re here in the first place. It can bring out so many of our hidden emotions through words. Honestly, this is also the reason why I started writing. I can release everything through this amazing vent . 🙂
